-Women’s Issues
You are worth it.
Not feeling worthy of happiness? Feeling belittled? Overwhelmed and exhausted? Feeling like you can never get it quite right?
Sometimes you need support and that’s OK.
You deserve to be content & satisfied in your life.
Sometimes we have experiences in our lives going back even to our childhood that become a story we believe about ourselves. Like, “You’re never going to amount to anything.” Or “You’re not good enough.” When we believe these things, it’s easy to take these stories into our adult lives and it impacts decisions we make.
We need help moving beyond these stories.
We need help to get there and that’s OK.
You are a masterpiece.
I believe in you. I believe that you are an amazing human being with lots to offer. I believe that you can heal.
I also believe that with my experience, I can help you find what’s inside of you, what makes you uniquely you and help you fall in love with yourself. It’s in there.
We just have to find it!
What Is Counseling?
Counseling provided by trained professionals can make a profound impact on the lives of individuals, families and communities. This service helps people navigate difficult life situations.
Who Is Counseling For?
Uncontrollable sadness, anger, or hopelessness may be signs of a mental health issue that can improve with treatment. If you’re eating or sleeping more or less than usual, withdrawing from family and friends, or just feeling “off,” talk to someone before serious problems develop that impact your quality of life.
What is The Process Like?
After you decide that you are ready for counseling and you contact me, I will send you paperwork to fill out and send back to me through the Simple Practice client portal. After I receive and review the information, we will have a ten minute free phone consultation to make sure that we are a good fit for each other and to make sure you are comfortable with me as your counselor. If we choose to continue after the consultation, we will set the first appointment.
1. What is the first appointment like?
During the first appointment, I will gather more information about you, we will get to know each other and create a treatment plan to focus our work together.
2. Are appointments taken in-person?
All appointments are via Telehealth. Telehealth has become the treatment choice of many. It is convenient, time saving and can be accessed from anywhere you are comfortable having a session.
3. How do Telehealth Appointments Work?
About five minutes before our session time, I will send a link to our room, just click the link from your phone, tablet or computer and type your name when asked. I will then meet you in the room to start our session.
Megan Hayward, LPCC
I have been a counselor since 2013. I specialize in psychotherapy with women who have experienced narcissistic abuse. My areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety, life transitions, abuse and trauma. My specialized treatment modality is Brainspotting and using this in conjunction with person centered, humanistic and feminist therapy. Before becoming a counselor, I worked in human services since 2004. With 17 years of experience, I have seen my clients make profound growth. It is my honor to witness this and it is the joy of my life.
