Treatment Methods We Provide

Person Centered Therapy

Learn More

Person-centered therapy was developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. This type of therapy diverged from the traditional model of the therapist as expert and moved instead toward a nondirective, empathic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process. The therapy is based on Rogers’ belief that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential.

Humanistic Therapy

Learn More

Humanistic therapy is a mental health approach that emphasizes the importance of being your true self in order to lead the most fulfilling life.  It’s based on the principle that everyone has their own unique way of looking at the world.

In therapy, women and other groups that have been marginalized might address the limitations experienced due to the sociopolitical status often imposed upon them and, with the help of a mental health professional, explore solutions to treat mental health needs and work toward social change.

Feminist Therapy

How Do I Know If Counseling Is Right

For Me?

Signs that it’s time to seek counseling.

1. You’re having a hard time regulating emotions.

It’s normal to feel sad, angry or nervous once in a while. When it starts to impact your daily life, it’s likely time to talk about it in a therapeutic setting.

2. You’re not performing as effectively as you would like at work or school.

A decrease in productivity and performance at work or school is a common sign that there are psychological or emotional concerns that would benefit from therapy.

3. You are experiencing disruptions in sleep or appetite.

Mental health and emotional concerns have a profound impact on our sleep schedules and eating habits. It’s often the first thing we notice when not feeling well emotionally.

4. You are struggling with relationships.

You might find yourself isolating from friends or family. You may not feel like pursuing new friendships. Connection is so important for us as humans and when you don’t have that, it can impact your emotional health negatively.

5. You have experienced trauma.

Trauma is different for everyone. If something happened in your life that is causing you to have nightmares or flashbacks of the event or if you have a strong emotional reaction to that event, it would be helpful to process this trauma in a gentle way.
